A LAND OF CONTRASTS

This consists of the northern section of Navarre and the southern section
of Zuberoa and lower Navarre in which the first foothills of the Pyrenees mountain
range appear. The Mountain topography is characterized by a continuous series
of steep mountains and green valleys characteristic of the Pyrenees' zone.
An area of extraordinary environmental beauty, especially recommended for the
enjoyment of nature and for mountain sports.
The average annual temperature ranges between 7 and 9º. In the winter,
it is common to have temperatures of around 0º and in summer they can
reach 20º.
The high mountain area is characterised by abundant cloud cover and frequent
precipitation in the form of rain or snow. The annual precipitation ranges
between 1,200 and 2,000 mm, with no dry periods.
