| Wine harvest in Rioja Alavesa |
| The harvest time usually takes between 30 and 40 days. For this, vine growers prepare the necessary tools: “corquetes” (curved knives in the shape of a stickle used to cut bunches of grapes), scissors, baskets, wagons and barrels. When the time comes, friends and relatives, helped by professional wine harvesters, work all day long, surrounded by a cheerful and hospitable atmosphere. As a result of the harvest, the vineyards will be full of grapes and the making of the different wines will begin (white, rosé or red), and each type of wine follows its own process. |
