 Hondarribia (Gipuzkoa)


In the frontier with the French Basque Country sharing the mouth of the Bidasoa river with Irun and Hendaia and in the feet of the Jaizkibel Mountain it is set up this picturesque village called Hondarribia. Because of its situation, it has support a number of important battles and historic events. Even though in the 18th century the town was recovered by big walls that they were destroyed, however nowadays we can see some of linens that protected them.

This small fishing village has a lot of places to visit. The nice Nuestra Señora del Manzano church with the gothic and renaissance style, does not go unnoticed. It’s tower is a bigness symbol, and from the faro we can watch the French coast or the beaches of the Jaizkibel mountain. The Main Street with a medieval style is made up by old wonderful buildings. We find the colours in La Marina , is a neighbourhood of fishermen with houses with colouring wooden balconies and adorned with flowers. If our visit is in a Sunday we can not miss street market set up in the Gipuzkoa square. where any artist can expose their piece.
