Euskalduna Congress Hall

The Euskalduna Congress and Music may, the work of architects Federico Soriano and Dolores Palacios, represents the last ship made in the Euskalduna shipyard, from which it takes the name.

It constitutes the second stage in the transformation process that Bilbao is going through, which has acquired the infrastructures of the first world firms, thus becoming a modern, cosmopolitan city, but with a strong character and a love for its traditions.

Built in the Abandoibarra area, and using naval technology, it constitutes a great multifunctional complex in which coexist in perfect harmony the organisation of congresses of all kinds and big music events such as the Bilbao Symphonic Orchestra or the opera season of the ABAO.

Its Auditorio, with its 2164 seats, must be emphasised, given its unbelieveable acoustics, and recently defined by Montserrat Caballé as “the most beautiful hall I have ever sung in”. At the same time, one must stress its extraordinary Theater Hall with 613 seats, as well as its numerous smaller halls, largely used for the organisation of events of all kinds, assemblies, meetings, etc.
